May is a month during which we honor our Armed Forces. Road to Reveal - Call of Duty: WWII

The growling, grinding sounds of German Panzers ripple throughout the IMAX theater. Overhead, U.S. bombers fly over, engine propellers at full throttle. Thunder-like booms resonate off trees and echo between hillsides. Faint, in the distance, Roosevelt’s voice can be heard sparking pride and courage in the hearts of soldiers ready to embark on the most difficult journey of their lives. As the trailer ends, we marvel at the intensity of the experience. For two and a half years we’ve quietly toiled...

April Charity of the Month - Mission Blue Butterfly

For our April Charity of the Month, we decided to give back to our environment. We love and value our state of California and enjoy taking the time to keep our wildlife thriving. In honor of Earth Day on April 22nd, we got a head start and went out this past Saturday to participate in Golden Gate Parks’ habitat restoration event. The focus of this event was Mission Blue Butterfly. The blue butterfly is endangered and its habitat is slowing killed by a disruptive weed called Italian Thistle. On S...

Studio Expansion Blog - Part 4

Not too long ago, we parked a large, blue obstruction in front of our building. A giant crane made a special delivery of much-needed materials for our studio expansion project. The crane towered over us, but we managed to snap a few cool shots of it in action. Part of our buildout plan has been to open up our studio space, get more light flowing between floors, and create a more inviting and dynamic workplace for our Hammers. We’ve had an awesome construction and operations crew going all out to...

My Creative Life

Drawing. It's at the very heart of my passion and my sense of being. It's what I do and what I can't turn off, slow down or even fully understand, but something for which I am so grateful. My journey as an artist has been a long, exciting ride full of both personal and professional satisfaction. Deadlines, obligation, rejection, and failure are no strangers to me, but neither are freedom, passion, encouragement and success. I know how it feels to be art directed, to go to art school, to live as a...

March Charity of the Month - Allergy Bright Communities

January Charity of the Month: Charlie's Army

This month, we are donating to a cause that is extremely personal and close to the heart. One of our own family members, Charlie Bernstein, the IT Manager at Raven Software, was in a car accident that left him paralyzed. Here is Charlie’s story:On September 20th, 2016, Charlie was driving to work. He was blocks from home. It was foggy. And then the world started spinning; his vehicle was thrown into a neighbor's front yard. His car had been struck, just behind the driver’s door, at speed. His nec...

A Merry Hammer Holiday Party

Legion of Honor First off… It. Was. Epic. Our Hammers have been hard at work, so it was a nice, well-deserved night off to eat, drink, dance, and mingle. And hey, who doesn’t want to get dressed up once in awhile and explore fine art?We rented out the entire Legion of Honor museum in the beautiful San Francisco Presidio, had two levels playing all kinds of music, a digital artist doing caricatures, a photo booth with costumes and props, tons of delicious food (shoutout to the chicken pot pies), ...

Revealed: Sledgehammer Games Holiday Card

As video game developers, we welcome the opportunity to be creative and transform our artistic visions into realities. And it’s not just limited to video games. This year, for our Sledgehammer Games studio holiday card, we held a studio-wide contest for the winning concept and gave away a PS4 Pro as the grand prize. We must say, the competition was strong. Our four finalists each submitted awesome original designs. But it was one of our associate concept artists Joanne’s cozy winter scene and cu...
