March Charity of the Month - Allergy Bright Communities

Food allergies are very common in the United States. With roughly 15 million Americans suffering from food allergies, including many Hammers here in the studio, it’s an issue that we care about deeply and that affects a large portion of the population. That’s why we’re raising money this month for Allergy Bright Communities (ABC) by hosting an in-studio poker tournament. ABC is a Bay Area nonprofit organization committed to researching and raising awareness about food allergies and the dangers pr...

December Charity of the Month: Toys for Tots

The holidays are here, time to spread good cheer! All bad rhymes aside, we really do love the holidays. It’s a time to take a break, relax with loved ones, and if you’re lucky, get out and play in some snow! It’s also a time to reflect and be grateful for all that we have, and to think of those who have less and try to help make their holidays merry. For December’s Charity of the Month, we are honored to team up with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program to donate gifts to children this ...

Our Annual Day of Service

Here at Sledgehammer Games, we honor and respect our country’s veterans. Oftentimes, after returning from duty, veterans experience hardships most of us can’t possibly imagine. Upon returning from service, It’s hard to find work, earn a living wage, and sometimes they are left homeless or without basic necessities. Many of them have families they must provide for and don’t always know where to turn for help. That’s why each year, Activision organizes a Day of Service to help serve veterans and f...

In Case You Couldn't Tell, We Love Halloween

Halloween at the studio gets better and better each year. More Hammers dress up, more families join us, more games are played, and more pie is eaten (albeit a bit sloppily!). This year, a variety of activities kept the evening energetic. We had a costume contest, a mummy wrapping contest, a pie-eating contest, and a carved pumpkin contest. We also really outdid ourselves with ambiance. Spooky colored lighting, scary movies playing on a projector, a photo booth, a fog machine, and killer decorati...

SHG OCTOBER CHARITY: COMPASS SF

We love Halloween. It’s the first of a three-month-long string of holidays and celebrations around the world. Most of us remember dressing up as our favorite superhero or fantasy character and running up and down the streets with our siblings and friends, knocking on doors and awaiting candy or fruit while our parents chaperoned. Halloween is an especially magical time for kids. For families facing economic hardships and homelessness, however, Halloween can be extremely saddening and stressful. ...

SHG HammerWeek 7th Anniversary Studio Outing

Greetings from your friendly Bay Area Dev Studio! We recently took a trip up to Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco to watch an early screening of Suicide Squad in a private theater reserved for our team. Team outings are always a great opportunity for everyone to take a step back from their work for a moment, share with others outside their department, and visit nearby San Francisco. Out of the many conversations happening before the movie started and in the bar afterwards, one thing was abundant...
